How to Study Effectively
How to Study Effectively
Many students today may struggle studying for many reasons, perhaps they don't know how to study and stay focus or they even say that they "don't have time ". However people are able to make time for those people they want to get to know or they even make time to go out. Therefore, that excuse is not valid . So in this blog I want to inform you about the process of how to study effectively .
Step 1: Study Mode
The first step is to get into study mode. How will you do that? You need to remind your self of why you are doing what you are doing. For example if you don't study you may not understand the subject, if you don't understand the subject you won't do good on the finial test, if you don't pass the class you need to retake it again . When an individual reminds themselves of the pros and cons they tend to realize what needs to be done and so they get pumped up to study, even if it means to sacrifice free time.
Step 2: Manage Your Time
Creat a weekly schedule, to help you manage your time if your busy most of the time because of work or other reasons. For example I study Tuesday Wednesday Thursday afternoons and Saturday because those are the only days I have open to study and do homework since I work about 33- 37 hours a week and go to church. If you don't set a weekly schedule to study you will have trouble studying .
Step 3: Workplace to study
Find a nice place to study some individuals need a quiet place others can study in loud places like Starbucks. Avoid studying on your bed because most of the time you are uncomfortable and you tend to move round a lot to change positions, by which cause distractions and waste time. You may even fall asleep. Avoid your phone and TV because it tends to distract you too.
Step 4: Health Snacks
Step 5: Be one step ahead of the class
Read a chapter before you arrive to class. Remember to highlighted important words in the chapter. If it's math problems or chemistry try to go over the problems and try to figure it out. Try to solve problems multiple times until you can do that problems in less than a minute because that means you understand and you have memorized the process of solving it. If you solve the problem in less then a minute this means you will have enough time to solve the hard one's.
Step 6: 5 minutes breaks
Take about 5 minutes or more of break in between extensive hours of studying. To stretch out your jones and distract your mind. This helps students to remember and mormorize the subject more.
Step 7: Take notes in class
Once you go back to class the professor or teacher will most likely talk about the chapter or section in class. Take down notes and pay attention to every detail word that they repeat. Since students have seen the section or chapter once by doing self studying seeing it again helps them understand it even more. Taking notes in class, helps students to be alert and not fall asleep in class.
Step 8: Do Homework
Last step is to do your homework. Homework should help you to get practice in math, or science problems or just understand the subject more.

The content of your blog is relevant to me because I believe I need better studying habits. I'm that person who gets distracted easily and doesn't know how to get back on track. It is helpful for me to hear it from someone else . Your blog was useful for me but I think it needs a small spelling check and it needs to be organized chronologically just for it to be easier to follow. For example how to study from start to finish. I'm a not disciplined enough to follow the right order so it would make it mush easier if it was organized from beginning to end.
ReplyDeletethe blog does describe a lot of similarities that we do for this particular case. I myself do follow some of these points. The points that I don't follow like the five minutes breaks or the snacks. I my consider that it can be useful for me, because I usually do a full assignment with no breaks, unless its restroom only. And I think you can improve on is to add, a section on procrastinator. This topic can be helpful for the us lazy folk. All in all, it is a well describe subject to study effectively. Keep up the good work.
