There is a multitude of ethical responsibilities when it comes to being a mechanical engineer. When working on a new product or an existing one in order to improve it the engineer in question must, of course, have a full understanding of who this product is meant for, the necessary safety precautions, and the cost of the product. When it comes to the ethical responsibility for the consumer's safety, mechanical engineers must take into consideration all the possible failures that may occur because any small misstep may lead to the death of the consumers. As a future mechanical engineer, I would like to work for a corporation and or company that works with cars and be the person behind the design of the car to make sure it is efficient safe, reasonably priced and of course pleasing to look at.
